Yana Titova was born on February 26, 1983 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. At the age of 14, while studying piano and singing in the prestigious Musical School in Plovdiv, she was cast as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. Since then, acting has become her life.
Yana became popular and wanted actress after her theater debut as Irina in Chekhov’sThree Sisters, for which she earned Best Young Actress Bulgarian Theater Award- ASKEER. She was invited to join both the Youth Theater and the National Theater “Ivan Vazov”, where she portrayed many different characters, proving how versatile and diverse she is.
Her talents were quickly noticed and she was invited to play lead roles in several films. For her film breakthrough role in Footsteps in the Sand, Yana won the Bulgarian Film Academy Award for Best Actress. By 2011, Yana was officially established as one of the leading women in Bulgarian cinema with her role in drama Hunting Down Small Predators fro which she recieved the Bulgarian Film Academy Award and Golden Rose Film Festival Award for Best Actress .
Yana is 2011 Berlinale Talant Campus Alumni. In 2012 Yana presented her newest filmKrapetz /July at Moscow International Film Festival. She balanced the summer with two films in which she stars, Sound Hunters, where she plays glamorous and famous singer from the 1960’s and 2cm South from the Temple where her character is on the verge of a mental breakdown.
